Coaching for English-Speaking Residents of South Korea

“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”

Getting you closer to your goals begins with one step and ends with giant leaps

If you are feeling stuck or in need of guided steps toward an important goal for yourself, then coaching may be the solution for you. Coaching is a kind of support that will help you in the pursuit of your life goals. This type of support differs from therapy in that it is more behavioral-based, action-oriented, and includes a more directive stance from a professional helper.

At Healing Together,
we support you.

Coaching can help you identify the barriers that are keeping you stuck. There are times when we may have a clear sense of what we want, but we are getting in our own way. We may be engaging in unhelpful thinking patterns or we are up against issues within the larger system we exist in.

The type of coach you work with depends on the goals you have for yourself and what you’re hoping to accomplish. Regardless, working with a coach can help you get started and move forward in your journey to your vision.

Coaching Focuses

A relationship coach helps with learning tools that will improve communication, reduce conflict, and create healthier patterns which are aligned with your relationship goals. Coaches can work with both couples and individuals.

  • Do you feel like you and your partner run into the same arguments over and over again?

  • Do you feel like you aren’t heard by your partner or that you can’t really get your thoughts across? Are you feeling like miscommunication has become the norm?

  • Do you feel less connected, less fulfilled, and weighed down by the stress in everyday life?

  • Do you want a relationship but have been unsuccessful finding the right one?

  • Do you find that you may be dating the same type of person over and over again?

  • Have you been in a long-term relationship and are now considering marriage?

If you find yourself asking these questions, you aren’t alone. Relationships are a core part of our happiness and fulfillment in life. They are the well we turn to for replenishment, joy, and meaning.

Relationship Coaching

  • For couples, some of the most common arguments are about finances, power dynamic, intimacy, and family roles. These conversations between couples can be tense, as they are so closely tied to our values. Working with a coach can help couples identify individual and shared values, illuminating what is truly important to them. When couples have clarity around the values that drive their behavior, they can better work together and be aligned in their commitment to each other.

  • For single people who are looking for a relationship but haven’t found the right person, a coach can be a supportive ally in offering encouragement. We are wired for connection and our ability to attach with others begins in utero. There are pivotal moments with caretakers and peers which shape how each of us creates bonds and seek connection. A coach can give insight into your patterns, help you understand your needs, and work with you to modify the thoughts and behaviors around getting what you deserve from a relationship.

  • If you are looking to change your behaviors and want long term results, then coaching may be the right fit. Below are some ways a relationship coach can help make changes in your life:

    • Learn more about how your upbringing and culture influences your views of relationships

    • Uncover deeper relationship patterns

    • Resolve negative core beliefs that keep you stuck

    • Enhance communication and learn productive strategies

    • Decrease relationship anxiety and increased sense of worthiness

A career coach can:

  • Hone into your natural and developed skill-sets

  • Pair you with vocations that match your values and abilities

  • Help you market yourself so that you are recognized by hiring managers

  • Utilize assessment tools and evidence-based practices to personalize the path to your goals

  • Clarify your goals and manage your expectations through transparency and reliable information about the market

Career Change or Transition Coaching

There are many times when working with a career counselor can be helpful. Perhaps you are thinking about changing your career but don’t know where to start. Maybe you have worked the same job for years but don’t feel you’re getting the recognition you deserve and feel like you can be doing more. It could be that you are in the position of your dreams but you’re experiencing imposter syndrome or aren’t getting the desired results from your team.

Career counseling can help you identify your strengths and weaknesses, tap into your values and motivations, and help you manage the ups and downs through finding the right career for you. Career coaching can also assist with writing your resume, tailoring your relevant experience to increase your chances of getting noticed and find the right job for you.

Working with a leadership coach can:

  • Understand your leadership style

  • Increase leadership skills and confidence

  • Build leadership capacity to achieve organizational goals or solve specific challenges

  • Facilitate motivation in others and maximize team achievements

  • Develop a greater sense of self-awareness

Leadership Coaching

Do you believe you are a natural born leader? Do you want to improve your leadership skills? People look up to a leader for guidance, inspiration, and sound advice.

Leadership development is a collection of skills that are needed for anyone in a management position in the workplace. Leaders oversee the day to day responsibilities of others and motivate their team to succeed. To be a good leader, one needs to have a solid understanding of people skills, active listening skills, empathy, and be able to positively influence others. Our coaching works with leaders to improve the senses they already have, build confidence, and develop strategies for working through any problem in the workplace.

If you are a parent or in a caretaker role and want to learn better ways to engage with your family or children, below are some examples of how coaching can help:

  • Learn attachment informed approaches that help increase connection and trust within your family

  • Learn research-based and best practices for how to handle conflict and discipline

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the challenges your family is facing

  • Be provided with helpful solutions toward improved overall functioning

Parenting Coaching

Parenting is one of the toughest yet most rewarding jobs there are. Many parents go into family planning with a vague understanding of how they will raise their children, usually influenced by their own upbringing. Soon they find that reality does not always go according to plan. Every child is different, our partners challenge us in ways we might not have anticipated, and responsibilities pile up. Families are also multifaceted and may look different than what is typically considered a traditional family unit. We understand the unique challenges that blended families, adoptee families, and multicultural families face. Our coaches work with each family on a personalized basis, and consider how members' identities can influence how each family functions.

Parent coaching can help parents find best solutions for their family challenges. Tools that cover discipline, positive reinforcement, communication, and boundary setting can help parents feel more in control when life feels overwhelming. We know that parents are generally doing the best they can. Our coaching provides an extra layer of support for parents who want better tools to connect with their family.

ADHD Coaching

ADHD is a condition in which the brain develops and functions differently than what is considered neurotypical. Although the experience of ADHD symptoms is individualized and can vary greatly, many people share the common difficulties with regulating and effectively shifting attention, organizing, planning, prioritizing, sustaining effort, completing tasks, managing time, working memory, internal restlessness, and regulating emotions.

ADHD is commonly recognized and diagnosed in childhood, but many children go on untreated or improperly treated, while some are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. Individuals often become more significantly impacted by ADHD in adulthood, when they have greater demands, responsibilities, and stress related to work, family dynamics, peer and intimate relationships, and self-development.

With accurate identification of challenges and implementation of goal-driven, strength-based interventions, individuals with ADHD can and do have organized, manageable, productive, and meaningful lives.
