Hi, I’m Mallory!

I was raised in Michigan by a wildly creative single mother with a love of books and gardens. Growing up, I inevitably fell in love with the trees and lakes around me. In fifth grade, I started a women’s circle called Girl Talk— my first foray into communal ritual. Like many of my clients, I am a seeker and storyteller. I studied Creative Writing before earning my Master’s in Social Work in 2010 and entering the child welfare field in Chicago. Burnt out and longing for change, I moved to Korea in 2015. When my maternal grandmother died in 2018, I was ushered into a deeper relationship with grief and began cultivating a spiritual practice rooted in presence and connection. My journey has involved reweaving a sense of belonging and selfhood while navigating ADHD, complex trauma, and loss.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked as a psychotherapist, clinical case manager, domestic violence counselor, support group facilitator, educator, artist, and intuitive tarot reader. My approach integrates my clinical training, formal mentorship, and ongoing praxis in tarot, astrology, herbalism, mythology, somatic work, and earth-based spirituality.

I’ve been practicing as a therapist with Healing Together since July 2023.

CLINICAL APPROACH

My clinical style is gentle, affirming, and honest. As a clinician, my role is to listen, witness, and co-create space to uncover and inhabit your authentic self. My approach is informed by Internal Family Systems (parts work), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, and David Bedrick’s Unshaming Way. Sessions may include talk therapy, mindfulness, somatic practice, expressive arts, role-play, and narrative exploration. I aim to help clients live more aligned lives — which may not always mean feeling good. Therapy involves cultivating a willingness to be present with discomfort, expressing rather than suppressing difficult emotions, and creating sustainable change rooted in personal values.

I approach mental health through a relational and systemic lens, recognizing the collective, ecological, sociopolitical, and spiritual roots of distress and healing. We carry deep collective grief and trauma, intensified by global oppression and crises like climate change, colonialism, and late-stage capitalism. Many of us have experienced ruptures in our connection to the earth and community — especially as immigrants and expats. My work moves beyond individual models of wellness to honor these broader realities.

I specialize in working with highly sensitive (HSP), neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ clients and individuals navigating codependency, attachment wounds, anxiety and depression, childhood trauma, perfectionism, inner criticism, and grief and loss. I have a passion for supporting creatives, intuitives, and folks exploring unconventional and spiritual paths. I am experienced working with couples, including those practicing alternative relationship styles (polyamory/ENM), and have a strong background working with children, adolescents, and caregivers.

For clients who are curious or interested, I welcome the integration of tarot and/or other intuitive tools into our work together.

INTERESTS, HOBBIES, & FUN FACTS

I’m a writer, theatre-maker, and photographer. My favorite poet is Mary Oliver, who carried a notebook with her everywhere. I love taking courses and learning new skills, from the fiddle and watercolor techniques to supporting the immune system with plants. I live with two sweet cats and I have an ongoing love affair with the neighborhood ginkgo trees. I enjoy playing Dungeons & Dragons, swimming in the ocean, and that warm feeling after a shared meal when conversation and laughter continue to flow.
